New To Pilates?

It is recommended students who are brand new to Pilates start out with private lessons.

Pilates is a process, as if you were learning a new language for your body to speak and its very helpful to have private lessons with an instructor so you can learn how to apply the basic principles to your body as well as learn how to operate the equipment safely. It is essential that you understand the basic principles and build a solid foundation before moving on to more advanced work or group classes.

Why Private Sessions?

The design of the Pilates Method is to correct the specific postural misalignments, and muscle imbalances of the practitioner and a private session allows the instructor to cater each exercise to the needs of the client.

Private sessions are recommended for clients who are new to the method, and to those that have specific goals they want to achieve. During each private appointment, the client will be given tools and knowledge of movement from Laura who will evaluate their specific needs in relationship to the Pilates technique, progress them through the Pilates levels and introduce them to new exercises, movement concepts, and principles. It’s a full body workout, where this special equipment can assist those with physical limitations or challenge the fit individual.

You will build core strength, increase flexibility, coordination, improve posture and create long lean muscles. Pilates is great for adults (men and women), athletes, dancers, and for rehabilitation. Doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists recommend Pilates for exercises.

If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old. If it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.
